Scripture Cookies

Want to add something new and exciting into your lesson time? Why not go through the Bible on an "ingredient" scavenger hunt. Children will solve the clues by searching provided scripture references and adding each ingredient into their cookie recipe. Once the clues have been solved, the children will add each ingredient into a zip-lock bag and squish until mixed (or into a bowl and stir.)

Cookie dough will go home in the zip-lock bags with baking instructions attached to the bag or baked right there at the church.

Children will work in teams to solve the clues and remain in teams as they mix their dough. Children will take turns holding their partner's bag open while they add their ingredients. Or they can work together to add their ingredients into their own bowls and stir.

You may also allow each child to bake 1-2 cookies to eat and send the rest of the dough home. This is what I normally do.
