Is God Calling You?

Thursday Thoughts! Is God calling you to step out? To try something new? To answer a calling that your heart has been ignoring?

Sometimes, we get so wrapped up in what we are doing...feeling "this" is God's calling...that we miss an even bigger calling.

Sometimes, our current calling is simply a stepping stone to an even bigger one.

I once had a Pastor tell me that when my job gets so easy that I can do it without any effort (routine), it's time to challenge myself with something new... and he was so right!

So, why do we ignore God's calling to "change"?

Because we LOVE serving where we are serving!

Because we feel we have already found our calling!

Because it's familiar to us!

Because change is scary!

Because we are the only ones stepping forward to teach the children.

And, one of the biggest reasons is that we love children, we don't want to disappoint them, we feel we are making an impact in their lives, and we feel no one else can teach or love them as we do!

To be honest...I have been on the struggle bus with the last two a time or two myself. Until someone asked me if I didn't believe God was big enough to replace me. I must admit...that was a real eye-opener...and permission to accept the challenge God had laid in front of me.

God never wastes a ministry...He uses it to grow and mature us...to prepare us for the next big step! Everything we learn while serving in one ministry, He will use in the next.

Change is not a bad thing! When God is the one calling us to that change.

Change does not mean quitting...it simply means moving when God speaks! "IF" God is calling you to a new challenge...don't be afraid to step out.

Learn ~ Grow ~ Teach...no matter where God is leading you!

If God has placed a burning desire in your heart, if He has given you new gifts, talents, or new interests, if God is opening doors...don't be afraid to burst the doors wide open.

God doesn't call the Qualified...He qualifies the called!
