Pleasant Words are a Honeycomb

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24

When I was young, we were taught that if I couldn't say something nice, we were to say nothing at all.

As I grow older, I have learned just how important those teachings were!

I use them in my day-to-day life.

When my dealings with my husband and family.

When dealing with my friends and co-workers.

When dealing with those around me.

If I can't say something nice, I simply say nothing at all! It took years to learn the value of these words, but they are indeed that...valuable!

If my words do not build someone up, I simply remain silent!

Likewise, If I disagree with something that is being said and it really isn't important...I simply leave it there! There is a time to speak...and there is a time to just remain silent!

Believe it or not, we will not agree with everyone. Likewise, not everyone will agree with us. Truth!

How many times have you read a post on Facebook and couldn't wait to reply? Is your reply kind, or is your first response a negative one?

All too many times, someone will post something on Facebook...something that they are so excited about...only to get a slew of negative comments. Why? Why would someone leave a negative, hurtful, hateful reply on someone's post?

Does it make the responder feel better about themselves? Maybe, but I'm not sure why.

If they bring someone down, does it build them up? No! Many times, it actually shows just how informed the responder is. In fact, more times than not, the responder is so anxious to leave a negative reply that they can't be bothered to read the entire post...proving just how uninformed they are.

Words count! Words mean something! Words can build up or they can tear down!

Want to have some fun? The next time you notice a post where everyone is replying negatively, post something complimenting the person who posted. Then sit back and watch how quickly the conversation changes to a positive one. Don't be tempted to reply if someone leaves you a reply...good or bad...just leave it there for all the world to be inspired!

We live in a world where everyone is a follower but we have few good leaders! Be that leader! Set that example!

Speak kindly to others. If you don't have a kind word, then simply keep quiet.

The world IS SEARCHING! Be the kind of person they are searching for!
