The God of the Mountaintop is the God of the Valley

Last week was a mixture of highs and lows for us.

Each day, we awoke to something new. It was as if we were on a roller coaster.

One day, we were experiencing "mountaintop" highs and the next, "valley" lows. But through it all, God was with us. Sprinkling the highs in with the lows...carrying us forward, preparing us for the next wave of highs or lows.

God's power and presence aren't confined to specific locations or situations. Whether we're experiencing "mountaintop" highs or "valley" lows in life, God is equally present and powerful. 1 Kings 20:28 speaks of God's omnipresence and sovereignty over all places and circumstances.

The full context of this verse comes from a time when the Arameans believed the God of Israel was only powerful in the mountains (where they had been defeated), so they planned to fight Israel in the valleys instead.

God's response was to demonstrate that He is equally powerful everywhere - He is not limited by geography or terrain.

On the mountaintops, God is right there celebrating with us. In the valley, He is holding us up...carrying us through.

The week ended with a beautiful "mountain" high...A Graduation and Mother's Day celebration with my husband, our children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren, and my beautiful mama (who turned 90 this year), and time spent in the house of the Lord!

Hoping for a smoother ride this week...but knowing that wherever the week leads...GOD is in the driver's seat, and it's all going to be alright!

I have prayed for each one of you this morning.

Whether you are experiencing "mountain top" highs or "valley" lows, I pray you feel God's presence. He is there...celebrating alongside you or carrying you through. Lean on Him!
