The God Who Whispers...

Some are looking for a God who shouts...and they miss the one who whispers.

Photography is one of my favorite hobbies.

During this time of year, you will often find me outdoors with my camera glued to my hands.

I'll be in my garden, walking our land, looking at the first blooms, and getting excited about Spring.

My favorite subject? God's creations!

From time to time, I purposefully wander out into the wilderness to catch a glimpse of God's handiwork...to enjoy time with Him...to get a better understanding of how powerful He is, and to marvel at the beauty He has created.

For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities, all things were created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16

What have I discovered on my journeys?

I have discovered that no matter how beautiful a picture...it can never compare to the true beauty of who God is.

Often, I will snap a picture of something so beautiful...only to discover that there is something else in the picture...something of equal beauty...but somehow, I missed it while looking through the viewfinder.

Proving to me that no matter how close I get to God...there is still "closer".

These outings are when I hear God's gentle whisper most clearly.

They are gentle reminders to my soul.

Reminders to listen closely for God's gentle whisper.

Reminders to "not" get so focused on one thing that I miss something beautiful.

Reminders to see, experience, and marvel at God's creations, but not to get so lost in the creation that I miss time with the creator.

For His creations are a marvel...but the creator, He is so much more than that!
