Today, I spent a large part of my day in the garden. I harvested many of the veggies for the last time and put several of the beds to rest for the winter. What a wonderful gardening year it has been!
Many of my plants have finished for the year, but some are still growing strong.
A garden involves a lot of work...and a lot of waiting!
First, you plant the tiny seeds...you feed and water them...and then you wait!
When the seed sprouts and becomes a seedling, you plant the seedling in fertile soil...and then you wait some more!
And then one day, it happens, you begin to see tiny flowers...and then tiny fruits...and then you wait some more...for the fruit to ripen!
And then suddenly...GOD creates something beautiful...right before your eyes!
The garden is always greener when you water it...nurture it...feed it...spend time caring for it! But God...He's the real gardener...we're just the caretakers.
Much like the seeds that we plant in our gardens, we also plant seeds within each child's heart. We plant the seeds, we nourish, we feed, and then we wait.
Will the seed sprout? Will the seed grow into a seedling? Will the seedling grow into something beautiful? Will it produce fruit?
Plant those seeds...water them, nurture them, invest your time in them...and then wait and watch as God GROWS something beautiful...right before your eyes!
