Here we are...another Sunday morning. Nothing seems the same as it did...just a few short months ago...and it isn't.
But should it be?
I once served under a Pastor that told me "If you can do your job with your eyes closed...with no effort at all...it's time to challenge yourself with something more."
This was some of the best advice that I have ever received...and a reminder that we are to always be growing in the Lord.
It has also taught me that sometimes, we grow out of a certain ministry...and into another. The ministry that we held so dearly was just a stepping stone on God's path for our lives.
Many of you are...or were...at that point.
You breeze in, you know what to do, you solve all the little things that need to be solved, you plan events that you've done a million times...etc. etc. etc. Life just rolls on!
But not this year!
This year, God is challenging each of us.
He is challenging us to step out and try new things.
He is teaching us to take risks. He is teaching us to re-think (I refuse to use the new catchword...re-imagine) everything about our ministry.
He is encouraging (pushing) us to step outside of our comfort zone.
And that is a good thing!
During this great time of tragedy...God has reaffirmed; to some of us, that we are serving EXACTLY where He wants us to serve.
He has given us a new drive...a new hunger...a new love for Children's Ministry.
It may be tough...and the challenges may be many but we have taken on the challenge.
And that is a good thing!
However, during this great time of tragedy...God has also shown some of us that it is time to step out...to take a step onto the next stepping stone of the life that God has planned for us.
He has given us new passions...new interests...new talents (gifts) that we didn't' even know that we had.
New ministry opportunities have presented themselves and God is calling us to something new.
And that is a good thing!
God is doing GREAT things...all we have to do is listen...and follow our hearts!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:18-19
Don't dwell on the past...God is doing a new thing!
And "WE" are blessed to be a part of it!
Have a blessed Sunday!
I have already been praying for you this morning.
