No Regrets!

Yesterday marked the second anniversary of my ministry; Steppingout...and what a joy it has been. Stepping away from teaching and leading children was a very difficult decision for me because children are my heart...and they always will be. It reminds me of a poem by Flavia Weedn... “Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.” It wasn't an easy decision but one that I can now look back upon and see God's hand at work. It would be wonderful if we could hear God calling, recognize His voice and run towards Him. However, that was not the case with me. I so loved working with the children that I endured a lot of struggles to be able to continue serving. Looking back, I now see that God had been calling me to something new for a long time. God was busy creating something new for a year; maybe even two years...and I didn't even know it. Our church went through many different changes within that period of time. Different leadership, different staff, different directions, different goals, different ideas, etc. Don't get me wrong...there is nothing wrong with new ideas, new direction, new goals...these are all good things. It's how you implement these changes, the moral compass you use, the people you tread upon to make these changes become a reality that was a struggle for me. The "behind the scenes" that many people do not; or refuse not to see. Even though the struggle was long and hard, God had begun to grow a new passion inside of me. He opened my eyes to others who were going through some of the same struggles that I was facing. New passions, talents, and gifts began to spring up, and then on October 29th, 2019...Steppingout was born. It has been so much fun! I have been able to minister to children's leaders all across the world, create fun stuff for them to use in their ministries, encourage and equip, fellowship with some amazing leaders, share ideas...and live vicariously through them to reach children the world over! If you are going through a storm in your ministry right now; ride it out! Know that God is doing a new thing and be ready to move when God opens a new door. Don't pack it up and quit...pack it up and move on to what God is already preparing! Thank you for taking this ride with me.
