Grow where you are planted!
Last week, my husband and I took a quick trip to Iowa. Along the way, I spotted this beautiful little tree growing inside of a silo.
It made me stop and think about how hard this tiny tree must have struggled to get to where it is today.
At first, I thought about how lonely and isolated its existence was...and I wondered why God chose to grow a tree right there in the middle of a Silo?I thought about how many times, I too have felt alone and isolated in my own ministry...how I have struggled to grow and flourish where God has placed me.But then, I realized the beautiful symbolism that it held within its branches...This little tree was growing right there...in the middle of a silo...right, where God had planted it.A wonderful reminder that we are to "Grow where we are planted."There will be times in our ministry when we will question...and doubt...and wonder why God has called us to serve where we are...why he planted us where we are. There will also be times when we will wonder why God has pulled us up by the roots and moved us somewhere else. But it is not our place to question why God has placed us where we are...it is our place to stretch and grow where God has planted us...just like this little tree. Stretching up to the heavens and praising God.A beautiful reminder that we are to "Grow where we are planted.""But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” Romans 9:20There will be times when we will look at something and see it as an obstacle...or as isolation...or as God planting us somewhere and forgetting about us...when in reality, we couldn't be further than the truth.Look at the little tree once again...but this time, look at it through God's eyes. Can you see it? What is surrounding the little tree? The silo! The silo is protecting the tree from the wind...the cold...the storms of life. What we might see as isolation...God might see as protection. We are not alone...God is always with us. Holding us up, protecting us from the storms of life, supporting us.All we have to do is to "Grow" where God has planted us...and allow God to take care of the rest! This little tree has not given up simply because it has faced adversity...it has risen above it.Rise, shine and grow, precious child...right there...where God has planted you!Have a blessed day! I have prayed for each of you today!
